Optronlab Group

Overview

Optronlab Group, Unidad de Investigación Consolidada de Castilla y León Nº UIC051, is specialized in the nano- and microscopic analysis of semiconductors, devices (LEDs, laser diodes, etc.), and semiconductor nanoestructures.

Our group has extensive experience with group IV semiconductors (Si, Ge, and SiGe alloy), group III-V (GaAs, InP, InGaP, etc.), II-VI (CdTe, CdS, etc.), as well as emergent materials (2D materials, metasurfaces, etc.). The group is focused on many optical and optoelectronic techniques, with special emphasis on Raman spectroscopy and luminescence techniques (µ-PL, CL). These techniques have been extended to nanoscale resolution by using the plasmonic resonance of a metallic AFM tip, resulting in Tip-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy (TERS) and Tip-Enhanced Photoluminescence (TEPL) techniques.

In recent years, the group has also focused on the characterization of wafers and solar cells of various materials, having a wide range of complementary optical and electrical characterization techniques adapted to this type of study.
